There are now two Elis with a knack for interceptions in New York.
One, a 12-year quarterback with the last name Manning that's led the league three times in interceptions, and now Eli Apple, a rookie cornerback drafted 10th overall in the NFL Draft.

Despite being 15 years apart in age and on different sides of the ball, Apple has a lot in common with Manning; just ask Apple's mother.
“He’s like a black Eli Manning,” his mother, Annie Apple, told the New York Post. “The personality, his facial expressions, the whole nine.”
While Eli Apple's numbers decreased last season at Ohio State (33 tackles, two for loss, one interception, eight pass breakups), it wasn't for a lack of effort.
“You’re getting a football lover,” Annie Apple said. “He always wants to get better. No one is gonna ever outwork Eli Apple. Ever.
“Eli loves the game like a doctor loves medicine, like Picasso loved painting.”
The great quotes from Annie Apple are nothing new. In fact, the New York Daily News already said she (@SurvivinAmerica) is a must-follow on Twitter.
Earlier this week she responded to comments on Twitter after an anonymous scout said Eli Apple "has no life skills. At all. Can't cook. Just a baby."
We dont respond to anonymous people & things. They're not real to us. What's real is this amazing dream our son is living rite now. #GoBucks

Lesson learned. Don't mess with Mama Apple.
