When the Packers host the Eagles on "Thursday Night Football" (8:20 p.m. ET Fox, NFL Network, Amazon Prime), both teams have plenty on the line early.

Green Bay is trying to improve to 4-0 before a big road game against an another NFC East opponent — 3-0 Dallas next week. Philadelphia, at 1-2, needs to get back above .500 soon or risk fading in the division.

Aaron Rodgers and Carson Wentz make for a great QB matchup as two classic franchises should deliver a midweek game that lives up to marquee expectations.

Here's everything to know about betting on Eagles vs. Packers, including updated odds, trends and our prediction.

Betting odds for ‘'Thursday Night Football'

  • Spread: Packers by 4
  • Point total: 46 to 46.5
  • Odds: Packers -103, Eagles -107

The Packers have been slight favorites beyond home-field advantage since the results of last Sunday. They have beaten the number in each of the first three games.

Team vs. Team all-time series

These teams have been playing since 1933, when the Packers began the rivalry by taking the first 9 games and 13 out of 14. The Packers have controlled this matchup again of late, winning four of the past five to increase the all-time advantage to 27-16. The Eagles last won in Green Bay's Lambeau Field in 2013.

Three trends to know

— The action has been trending toward the Packers with 63 percent of bettors liking them to cover at home, with 56 percent going for the moneyline.

— With the capacity of these offenses and the Packers expected to get their passing game going, 56 percent like the over, a rarity for TNF.

— The Packers are 8-10 against the spread when playing the Eagles since 1996. That includes a 4-5 mark at Lambeau.

Three things to watch

Rodgers revs up

The Eagles have had a limited pass rush and a bad secondary so far in '19. Rodgers has been more of a caretaker QB because of the luxury afforded to him by his running game and defense doing enough damage in two weeks, as the Packers have allowed a total of only 39 points. That said, he's made a big play early in each game to set the tone for the victories.

The breakout passing game for him under Matt LaFleur is bound to come. This is a good time to let him loose, with a competent offensive opponent on the other side as a warmup for a potential shootout with Dak Prescott next week.

Run Sanders, run

The Packers once had to deal with Barry Sanders in the division. Eagles rookie Miles Sanders showed his special running and receiving skills against the Lions. The Packers have had trouble with quick explosive backs early, namely Dalvin Cook and Phillip Lindsay. The Eagles must stay committed to the run enough to limit Rodgers' time on the field and facilitate Wentz.

Lines vs. lines

The Packers' offensive line is coming off a dominant game against the Broncos. The Eagles' defensive line is struggling to get to the QB. The Packers' defensive line has been controlling much of the action. The Eagles' elite offensive line isn't not playing to its usual standards. It's hard for Philly to change both trends in one night.

Stat that matters

Rodgers is 66-17-1 at home for good reason. He's rated 107.7 during his career at Lambeau Field, averaging nearly 8 yards per attempt. He had two slightly off games when hosing the Vikings and Broncos. He's overdue to explode.

Team vs. Team prediction

Rodgers throws more here because the desperate Eagles will put up a good fight with Sanders and Wentz. The Packers' defense is improved, but the Eagles have too many versatile weapons not to stay in the game the whole way. The Packers win by a Mason Crosby field goal.

Packers 27, Eagles 24
