Eagles vs. Commanders odds, prediction, betting tips for NFL Week 10 'Monday Night Football' image

When the Eagles (8-0) host the Commanders (4-5) to close Week 10 of the 2022 NFL season on "Monday Night Football" (8:15 p.m. ET, ESPN), they will be looking to carry their perfect season into the second half.

Philadelphia, firmly in first place in the NFC East, will look to keep pace with second-place New York (7-2) in the NFC East and also gain a game on third-place Dallas (6-3). Washington, last place in the division, will be trying to bolster any wild-card playoff berth hopes it has.

Jalen Hurts and the Eagles' offense are rolling, but their defense has been dominant too, Taylor Heinicke and the Commanders have a tall task in trying to pull the monumental upset.

Here's everything to know about betting on Eagles vs. Commanders in Week 10, including updated odds, trends and our prediction for "Monday Night Football."

Eagles vs. Commanders odds for Monday Night Football

  • Spread: Eagles by 11
  • Over/under: 43.5
  • Moneyline: Commanders +400, Eagles -550

It's no surprise the Eagles are heavy home favorites as they have been a dominant home team, especially in prime time. That number ended up being the biggest this week.

Eagles vs. Commanders all-time series

The Commanders still lead this long-running series 88-82-5. But the Eagles have won three consecutive matchups going back to last December. They routed the Commanders 24-8 in Washington in Week 3.

Three trends to know

—57 percent of spread bettors think the number is a little too big and are siding with the Commanders to cover.

—62 percent of total bettors think the over/under is a little too low and taking the over.

—The Eagles are 5-3 against the spread and 5 of their games have gone over this season. The Commanders are 4-4 ATS with only 3 of their games going over.

Three things to watch

A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith vs. the Commanders secondary

The Eagles' top two wide receivers dominated the first matchup. Smith caught 8 passes on 12 targets for 169 yards and a TD. Brown caught 5 passes on 10 targets for 85 yards and a TD. The Commanders' corners are still struggling. The Eagles will have no problems working them over often again.

Terry McLaurin, Curtis Samuel and Jahan Dotson vs. the Eagles' secondary

Dotson, the talented big-play rookie, will return from his hamstring injury to help Heinicke, who has clicked well with McLaurin and Samuel. Darius Slay and James Bradberry are arguably the game's best outside coverage duo, but the Eagles will be without slot ace Avonte Maddox, replaced by Josiah Scott. With a sputtering running game, Heinicke needs to find a reliable matchup for his wideouts.

Eagles' vulnerable run defense

The Commanders need to run the ball to beat the Eagles. Antonio Gibson and Brian Robinson Jr. need to be a big part of the game plan to take pressure of Heinicke, wear down the Eagles' pass rush and contribute to keeping the Eagles' offense off the field. If Washington can't run again, it would be doomed early.

Stat that matters

14 points. That's the average margin of victory in the Eagles' four home games so far, for a total of 56 points. They have been pushed a little away from Philadelphia, namely in Detroit and Arizona. But they blew out the Vikings, to whom the Commanders just lost, 24-7 in Week 2.

Eagles vs. Commanders prediction

The Eagles will be relentless with their offense knowing the Commanders have had some pesky magic with Heinicke. They will step on the gas with the pass with Hurts, knowing it's tougher to run on the Commanders. They will finish often in the red zone per usual with Brown and Smith once again becoming huge factors.

Eagles 35, Commanders 22
