A win tonight for the Philadelphia Eagles would help them on their quest to win the NFC East as well as the top seed in the NFC. As for the 6-7 Seattle Seahawks, they're just trying to get into the postseason field.

Neither team has won much lately, though. The Eagles dropped games to the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys in consecutive weeks – both of whom are also NFC contenders – while the Seahawks dropped four consecutive games and currently sit outside the seven-team playoff.

Someone has to win tonight, though, and the result will have a lasting effect on the NFC postseason.

If the Eagles win (or even tie), they'll clinch a playoff spot. A loss would push them down the standings and likely hand the division and the conference over to another team, though its tough to imagine a 10-win team missing the playoffs entirely. A win for the Seahawks keeps them in line with the rest of the NFC wildcard teams, while a loss would almost assuredly take them out of the running.

Rookies could be in the spotlight tonight as well. Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter has four sacks on the season and returned a fumble recovery for a touchdown this past week. Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba has seen an uptick in targets as the season moves forward, though he hasn't scored a touchdown since Week 7.
