Philadelphia could be getting even thinner at the quarterback position.
Eagles fourth-year quarterback Cody Kessler was blindsided in the first quarter of his team's preseason game against the Jaguars on Thursday and left the game to be evaluated for a head injury, according to a report from NFL Network. He completed just one of his four pass attempts for 11 yards before leaving the contest.

#Eagles QB Cody Kessler is being evaluated for a head injury, according to the team. They previously lost backup Nate Sudfeld to a broken wrist.

Kessler's injury comes just one week after second-string quarterback Nate Sudfeld broke his wrist in Philadelphia's game against Tennessee. Sudfeld has already undergone surgery but is expected to miss six weeks.
If Kessler and Sudfeld both miss an extended period of time, the Eagles could be in for some serious trouble, as it appears rookie quarterback Clayton Thorson is next in line to back up starting signal-caller Carson Wentz.
Wentz has suffered season-ending injuries the past two years and has yet to play in a playoff game. The fourth-year quarterback had been replaced by Nick Foles in the past two postseasons, but Philadelphia lost that safety net when Foles signed a massive four-year deal with the Jaguars in March.
Wentz signed a four-year, $128 million extension with the Eagles over the offseason soon after Foles moved on.
Kessler and Sudfeld have combined for 20 regular season appearances while Thorson, a fifth-round pick in this year's draft, hasn't seen a snap against NFL starters.
Philadelphia is looking to improve upon 2018's 9-7 record and early playoff exit, and a lot will be riding on Wentz being healthy.
