Monday night's win at Arrowhead Stadium might not erase the pain of February's Super Bowl 57 loss for the Eagles, but it's certainly a start for a Philadelphia team hoping to take that final step this season.
In February, the Chiefs trailed by 10 points at halftime but walked away with a victory. This time, it was the Eagles who mounted a second-half comeback and held on for the win. It wouldn't have been possible without some help from Kansas City's embattled receiving corps.
While the Eagles' defense was able to clamp down on the Chiefs at times, Mahomes saw more than a few well-placed passes fall incomplete as his receivers struggled. When Kansas City had a chance to go down the field and score a go-ahead touchdown in the final minutes, the drive was marred by drops from Travis Kelce, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Justin Watson.
None were more egregious than Valdes-Scantling's mishap, as the veteran receiver gained separation on Bradley Roby and looked like he was about to put the Chiefs in front when Mahomes' perfect pass went through his arms. Two plays later, a desperate 4th-and-25 pass from Mahomes hit Watson right in the hands and simply bounced off.

Turnovers cost the Chiefs as well. Mahomes was intercepted by Kevin Byard in the second quarter, ending a scoring opportunity, and Kelce fumbled away the ball when Kansas City was driving early in the fourth quarter.
While both represented wasted chances for the Chiefs, the Eagles didn't turn either turnover directly into points. The offense was sluggish for much of the night, with occasional bursts from D'Andre Swift as the unit's only real signs of life until Jalen Hurts hit DeVonta Smith downfield for 41 yards in the fourth quarter. That set up a "Brotherly Shove" touchdown, which gave Philadelphia its first and final lead of the night.
The Eagles (9-1) will take the NFL's best record into Week 12, while the Chiefs (7-3) slip behind the Ravens for the top spot in the AFC but only face one more team with a winning record the rest of the way.

Eagles vs. Chiefs results, highlights from 'Monday Night Football'
(All times Eastern)
Final: Eagles 21, Chiefs 17
11:19 p.m. — That'll do it! The Eagles go into Kansas City and hand the Chiefs their third loss of the season, shutting out Mahomes and co. in the second half with the help of some key drops by Chiefs receivers. The Eagles have the NFL's best record at 9-1.
11:17 p.m. — Mahomes' long pass on 4th & 25 is dropped by Justin Watson. The Eagles take over and will be able to run out the clock. Drops cost the Chiefs in Week 1, and they've cost Kansas City again in Week 11.
11:14 p.m. — Now Mahomes comes under pressure from Josh Sweat and is called for intentional grounding. It's 4th & 25.
11:13 p.m. — Oh man. Marquez Valdes-Scantling gets separation from Bradley Roby and has every opportunity to haul in a terrific throw by Mahomes, but he just drops it.

11:09 p.m. — Kelce does get the first down on the very next play. Mahomes goes right back to him on first down, and an unnecessary roughness penalty on Fletcher Cox adds 15 yards onto that catch. A brutal sequence for the Eagles when the Chiefs appeared to be on the ropes.

11:08 p.m. — Wow, Kelce can't haul in a short pass from Mahomes on 3rd & 2. The rain might've been a factor there, but he'd tell you he should've had that.
11:07 p.m. — The stage is set. The Chiefs have 2:49 to go 91 yards and score a touchdown. They have one timeout and the two-minute warning to work with.
11:05 p.m. — Drue Tranquill makes a crucial tackle of Swift on 3rd & 23. Swift likely wouldn't have gotten the first down, but he could've given the Eagles a major field position advantage on the punt if he broke free. The Chiefs will have their chance at a game-winning drive.
11:03 p.m. — A holding call on Jordan Mailata backs the Eagles up to 2nd & 22, which isn't ideal for Hurts and co.
11:00 p.m. — A defender gets his hands on Mahomes on third down, and his desperate pass falls incomplete. The Eagles will try to tack onto their lead here. They've shut out the Chiefs in the second half.
10:59 p.m. — Officials call a false start on third down. The fans think Brandon Graham should've been penalized for jumping too early. It'll be 3rd & long for the Chiefs...
Eagles 21, Chiefs 17
10:54 p.m. TOUCHDOWN — What else but the tush push? Hurts barrels forward for the score, and the Eagles have their first lead of the night. It's been a baffling night for Philadelphia's offense at times, which might make the fact they have the lead all the more impressive.

10:52 p.m. — The Eagles finally take a chance, and it pays off. Hurts throws a bomb to Smith for 41 yards, setting up 1st & Goal from the one. What a throw, what a catch.

10:51 p.m. — Hurts didn't look Swift's way when he was open on second down, but the QB finds DeVonta Smith for a first down on the very next play.
10:49 p.m. — The Eagles have refused to take many shots tonight, and that might be why. Hurts throws behind the line of scrimmage to Swift, and the running back picks up 20 yards.
10:46 p.m. — This time, Watson can't make the catch on third down. The Chiefs are forced to punt, and the Eagles' offense just needs a field goal to tie. Still about nine minutes left.
10:44 p.m. — Mahomes with a fantastic third down throw to Watson, keeping the Chiefs' drive alive despite heavy pressure in his face.
On 3rd & 9, @PatrickMahomes drops a dime. What a throw.

10:42 p.m. — Philadelphia goes nowhere on that drive as Hurts only picks up a few yards on third down. The Chiefs will get it right back with a chance to take more time off the clock.
10:41 p.m. — The Eagles throw behind the sticks on 2nd & 10, which goes nowhere. The Chiefs have a chance to turn the momentum right back.
10:40 p.m. FUMBLE — Kelce loses the football and slams his fist into the turf. Bradley Roby came in and punched it out. The Eagles get a massive break after the Chiefs nearly made it a two-score game again.

10:39 p.m. — Pacheco picks up the first down and extends the drive for Kansas City.
10:38 p.m. — The Chiefs will go for it on 4th & 1 after Toney comes up just short...
10:36 p.m. — The Chiefs open the fourth quarter with a five-yard pass to Kelce, setting up 3rd & 5 from the edge of the red zone. Barring a turnover, Kansas City is poised to at least come away with points here. An injury to Milton Williams has this game paused.
End of third quarter: Chiefs 17, Eagles 14
10:31 p.m. — Jerick McKinnon picks up a first down for Kansas City, and the Chiefs are now 7-for-11 on third down tonight.
10:29 p.m. — Eli Ricks is called for illegal contact and gifts the Chiefs a first down on a third down incompletion that could've gotten Kansas City's offense off the field.
10:26 p.m. — Darius Slay is called for pass interference against Marquez Valdes-Scantling and injects some life back into the Chiefs' drive after a holding call set Kansas City back.
10:24 p.m. — Rashee Rice is left uncovered and picks up 17 yards to start the Chiefs' drive.
Chiefs 17, Eagles 14
10:20 p.m. TOUCHDOWN — The Eagles were 1-for-6 on third down tonight, but it didn't matter there. Hurts runs it right up the middle for a touchdown and makes this a three-point game.

10:16 p.m. — There's the tush-push on 2nd & 1. No surprise: It worked.
10:11 p.m. — The Chiefs are forced to punt again after a false start backs up the drive. Mahomes wasn't on the same page with Justin Watson on 3rd & 7. Another opportunity for the Eagles' offense...
10:07 p.m. — What a mess. Swift loses three yards on 3rd & 1, and the Eagles can't even get themselves in position to run a quarterback sneak on fourth down. It's a three-and-out.
10:06 p.m. — D'Andre Swift puts a great move on Willie Gay Jr. and picks up nine yards. It'll be 3rd & 1 for the Eagles.
10:00 p.m. — Mahomes is nearly sacked on third down, escapes, and misses an open Kelce. That's going to get the Chiefs' offense off the field.
9:59 p.m. — Mahomes uses his legs on 2nd & 12, running just short of the first down. He has 38 yards on the ground tonight.
9:55 p.m. — That crucial drive goes nowhere as the Eagles lose yardage on third down and are forced to punt. Philadelphia's offensive ineptitude has put serious pressure on the defense to withstand Patrick Mahomes.
9:52 p.m. — This is a crucial drive for the Eagles to open the second half, with little room for error down 10.
End of first half: Chiefs 17, Eagles 7
9:38 p.m. FIELD GOAL — Butker drills it from 43 yards out and extends the lead to 10 for the Chiefs. These teams looked pretty evenly matched in the Super Bowl, but the Chiefs were in a class of their own in the second quarter tonight.
9:37 p.m. — Jalen Carter is called for encroachment, which gives the Chiefs a field position boost. 19 seconds left in the half.
9:36 p.m. — Watson makes up for the drop and makes a sliding catch to put the Chiefs somewhat into field goal range. This would be a 52-yard attempt for Harrison Butker, which is ordinarily his range but might be tougher in these conditions.
9:34 p.m. — Justin Watson with a bad drop to give the Chiefs 3rd & 15.
9:32 p.m. — The Chiefs get the Eagles off the field with enough time to try and score before the end of the half. Aside from the one interception of Mahomes, this has been a totally uninspiring quarter by Philadelphia.

Chiefs 14, Eagles 7
9:26 p.m. TOUCHDOWN — Kelce finds the end zone on a well-designed play! It's Kelce's fifth touchdown of the season, and the Chiefs are back in front by seven.

9:21 p.m. — Mahomes nearly gets dropped by Fletcher Cox but does what he does so well and escapes for a 14-yard gain. Kansas City is in business at the two-minute warning.
9:19 p.m. — The Eagles were one play from getting the Chiefs' offense off the field, but Josh Sweat is offsides.
9:17 p.m. — What a momentum shift as Kadarius Toney's terrific punt return allows the Chiefs to start this next drive in Eagles territory.
9:16 p.m. — Jones got Hurts again! Two sacks on the drive for the two-time Super Bowl champion, who now has 7.5 on the year.
9:14 p.m. — Chris Jones quickly derails this Eagles drive with a sack of Hurts, who loses seven yards.
9:11 p.m. INTERCEPTION — Mahomes is picked off in the end zone by Kevin Byard! What a turn of events after the Chiefs rumbled their way down the field following the Hurts INT.

9:09 p.m. — The Chiefs started this drive without great field position, but they've just carved up Philadelphia's defense. Clyde Edwards-Helaire now gets involved with a 12-yard run.
9:08 p.m. — Travis Kelce makes an appearance with his first catch of the night. The Chiefs are roughly into field goal range.
9:07 p.m. — Pacheco continues to run hard and takes the Chiefs into Eagles territory after a first down catch by Justin Watson.
9:05 p.m. — Replay shows Sneed was touched and down by contact, preventing what would've been an ugly ending to a great play by Sneed. It's Chiefs ball.
9:01 p.m. INTERCEPTION — Woah! Hurts is picked off by Sneed, who is ruled down, but it looks like he might have gone untouched before fumbling the ball back to the Eagles. For now, it's Chiefs ball. Officials will take a look.

8:55 p.m. — The ground game only gets the Chiefs so far. The Eagles force a three-and-out after gaining only three yards, and Philadelphia's offense will quickly go back to work.
End of first quarter: Eagles 7, Chiefs 7
8:50 p.m. — The Chiefs stick to the ground game to end the quarter, but Pacheco can't go anywhere. It'll be 2nd & 10 to start the second quarter.
Eagles 7, Chiefs 7
8:47 p.m. TOUCHDOWN — Swift finishes the job and runs it in for the touchdown! The Eagles answer right back and have this game tied at 7.

8:43 p.m. — L'Jarius Sneed gifts the Eagles some more yardage with an illegal use of hands penalty. Its his 13th of the season. Philadelphia is roughly into field goal range, but with this weather, nothing is exact.
8:38 p.m. — Hurts picks up another first down with his legs and has the Eagles at about the Chiefs' 42-yard line. The Eagles are breaking through a bit against Kansas City's defense.
8:37 p.m. — Hurts hits DeVonta Smith for a 20-yard gain to open the drive. That's his first pass attempt of the night.
Chiefs 7, Eagles 0

8:25 p.m. — Pacheco with a breakthrough play for the Chiefs, taking off for 24 yards. Kadarius Toney follows it up with a 14-yard run of his own. Kansas City has found a hole in the Eagles' run defense.

8:18 p.m. — Reddick blew up that drive. The Chiefs just run it on 3rd & 19 and are quickly forced to punt.

8:15 p.m. — The Eagles won the toss and deferred. Kansas City will start with the ball.
8:09 p.m. — The Chiefs largely won the battle of the trenches in Super Bowl 57, getting a great performance out of their offensive line, and it'll be crucial for the unit to step up again in the wet weather tonight.
8:00 p.m. — Wet weather in Kansas City...let's see if that impacts these two high-flying offenses.

7:40 p.m. — The Eagles can’t be knocked out of the No. 1 seed tonight — they’ll maintain the conference tiebreaker over the Lions — but the Chiefs would slide behind the Ravens with a loss.
7:27 p.m. — This game has consequences in the standings for both teams, but maybe not as much as others would. Neither team can hurt its in-conference record, which could be the decisive factor in the race for the No. 1 seed considering the Chiefs don't face the Ravens and the Eagles don't face the Lions. Philadelphia has a perfect record against NFC opponents.
7:15 p.m. — The Eagles haven't beaten the Chiefs since 2009, when Andy Reid was still coaching in Philadelphia and Donovan McNabb was the team's quarterback. A win tonight at Arrowhead Stadium would at least erase a few of the demons from February and years prior.
7:00 p.m. — Likewise, the Chiefs largely have their health heading into tonight's game.

6:45 p.m. — It will be a cool and breezy night at Arrowhead Stadium, as it's currently 44 degrees with kickoff about 90 minutes away. Temperatures aren't expected to drop much, however.
6:35 p.m. — Travis Kelce is in the house rocking the throwback jacket ahead of what might be his final matchup against his brother. Jason Kelce has not committed to playing beyond 2023, and the Chiefs and Eagles can't meet again in the regular season until at least 2025.

Monday's Super Bowl rematch between the Eagles and Chiefs will kick off at 8:15 p.m. ET (7:15 p.m. local time) from Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo.
