NFL trade rumors: Dolphins shopping Kenny Stills, others before regular season starts image

It appears like Miami is looking to speed up its rebuild.

The Dolphins are dangling multiple players as trade bait in hopes of acquiring future draft picks, and one of them is wideout Kenny Stills, according to a report from the Miami Herald

The 27-year-old has attracted quite a bit of attention as of late. Stills has continued to protest racial injustice and police brutality by kneeling during the national anthem at games, two years after former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick started the movement.

He's also been vocal about his dislike of rapper Jay-Z's entertainment and social justice partnership with the NFL and publicly criticized the political beliefs of Dolphins owner Stephen Ross.

All of this might have been enough to convince Miami he's not worth keeping, despite his success in its offense last season.

Stills recorded 553 receiving yards in 2018 and also caught a team-high six touchdowns in the Dolphins' 7-9 campaign. He's spent four of his six NFL seasons with the team.

However, Miami is in a critical transitional period with its new head coach Brian Flores and two quarterbacks battling for a starting spot in Ryan Fitzpatrick and Josh Rosen.

The Miami Herald's report stated teams are willing to wait for Stills to be cut rather than trading for him now. Safety Reshad Jones and linebacker Kiko Alonso have also been made available.
