The Dolphins and Bills will meet for the third time this season as Miami travels to Buffalo for a wild card playoff clash.
FOLLOW LIVE: Updates, highlights from Dolphins vs. Bills wild-card game
It will be a rubber match between the two teams, with both sides winning against the other during the regular season. Miami was victorious at home in a sweltering Week 3 showdown, while Buffalo got its revenge in an equally frigid duel in Week 15.
The Dolphins limped into the postseason thanks to an ugly 11-6 victory over the Jets last week. It snapped a five-game losing streak for Mike McDaniel's squad in the nick of time. The Patriots' loss to the Bills meant Miami clinched a spot in the playoffs for the first time since 2016.
The biggest story for the Dolphins remains the health of Tua Tagovailoa. The quarterback has been in concussion protocol since Dec. 26, and his status remains up in the air for Sunday's game. It's the second time he has been in concussion protocol this season. If he isn't ready to play, it will be either rookie Skylar Thompson or veteran Teddy Bridgewater under center.

The Dolphins haven't won a playoff game since 2000, the second-longest active drought in the NFL behind only the Lions.
Meanwhile, Buffalo's 35-23 win over New England last Sunday capped off an emotional rollercoaster of a week. It was the first time the Bills had taken the field since safety Damar Hamlin collapsed and went into cardiac arrest during the Week 17 game vs. the Bengals. He has since returned to Buffalo, where he remains under medical supervision.

Nyheim Hines' unbelievable opening kickoff return touchdown set the tone, and he went on to house another kickoff later in the game.
Despite the win, the Bills had to be content with the No. 2 seed in the AFC. They lost their shot at the No. 1 seed earlier in the week without playing a single snap after the game vs. the Bengals was canceled. If they reach the AFC Championship this year, the NFL has determined the game will be held at a neutral site — if their opponent is Kansas City. But for now, their only objective is getting past their AFC East rivals this Sunday.
