Dez Bryant, surrogate quarterback?
That's what the wide receiver is hoping for, according to The Dallas Morning News. In fact, Bryant even tried to attend a quarterbacks meeting this week.
After Bryant threw a trick-play touchdown pass Monday in the Cowboys' 42-21 victory over the Lions, he reportedly has been lobbying offensive coordinator Scott Linehan for similar plays in the future.

The 10-yard throw to tight end Jason Witten in the third quarter was Bryant's first touchdown pass in seven NFL seasons.
However, it's unclear if the Cowboys will employ too many trick plays like that in the future. They already are having great success with rookie quarterback Dak Prescott, and they likely will want Bryant to focus on what he does best — catching the ball, not throwing it.
