Dez Bryant’s right foot is incredibly important to the Cowboys. So with Bryant’s return from surgery looming, the Cowboys and Nike banded together to develop a new, wider cleat to protect him from further injury.
Nike redesigned Bryant’s cleats to make the right shoe wider than the left to strengthen a plate that is already built into the outside of the shoe in order to better protect Bryant's foot, according to the Dallas Morning News.

The cleats arrived last week and made their first appearance on Bryant’s feet at practice Thursday.
Bryant, who endorses the Jordan Brand, also will have special sole inserts to provide more padding as he tries to make an early return from surgery he underwent on Sept. 14 to repair a broken bone in the foot.
