The big question with De'Von Achane heading into this season was whether he could stay healthy. If Achane is on the field every week, the sky is the limit for this dynamic game-breaking playmaker. But listed at just 5'9" and 188 pounds, that can lead to a lot of wear and tear over the course of a season.
Achane looked as explosive as ever in Week 1 against the Jaguars. Miami struggled to get much going in the run game, but Achane did haul in seven receptions for 76 yards. And while he only put up 24 rushing yards on 10 carries, that included a powerful TD from the 1-yard line.
Achane did limp off on the last play of the game, but head coach Mike McDaniel didn't give any indications that he thought this could be an impactful issue.

Will De'Von Achane play Thursday? Injury update on Dolphins RB
UPDATE: Achane is officially ACTIVE.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting that De'Von Achane will work out pregame tonight to determine his availability against the #Bills. But based on how he feels and how he practiced yesterday, there is optimism that he plays.
Originally the thought was that Achane was in the bigger danger of sitting than Rhaeem Mostert, but it's Mostert who has already been ruled out with a chest injury.
Achane did miss some time last season with two separate injuries. He suffered an AC joint sprain in his shoulder in the preseason, causing him to miss Week 1. Then he suffered an MCL sprain in Week 5, causing him to miss more than a month of action.

Dolphins RB Depth Chart: Who is De'Von Achane's backup?
De'Von Achane and Raheem Mostert are both listed as starters at running back on the Miami Dolphins' official depth chart. Achane's direct backup is listed as exciting 4th-round rookie Jayeln Wright, but Mostert's backup is Jeff Wilson.
It was Wright who was inactive in Week 1, but if it's Achane who ends up sitting Thursday night, Wright's skill set is more comparable to Achane, so he might make more sense to receive a lot of Achane's workload.
If Achane plays, there's more of a chance that Jeff Wilson will receive the lion's share of the available touches. Obviously, if Achane is ruled out, we could see a lot of both Wright and Wilson.

De'Von Achane fantasy outlook Week 2
If De'Von Achane is able to suit up Thursday night, there's a good chance his workload will be at least somewhat limited. We originally had him ranked as the RB7 this week. After his DNP on Monday, we knocked him down to RB9.
We'll get clear confirmation tomorrow after pregame warmups, but if you are an Achane or even a Mostert fantasy manager, you'll want to make an effort to pick up some contingency plans on the waiver wire if you don't have some on your bench already. We know Jeff Wilson will already see significant snaps with Mostert sitting, but Jaylen Wright should also be sprinkled in even if Achane plays. However, Wright is only a play if Achane ends up sitting.
