After just a few weeks with the team, the Buffalo Bills have released former Detroit Lions wide receiver, Quintez Cephus, to make room for another addition.
The Bills announced they have signed safety Dee Delaney, formerly of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs needed a corresponding move, which led to Cephus' release less than three weeks after he signed on April 29.
A former fifth-round pick of the Lions in 2020, Cephus spent three years with the team before he was released in 2023 following his being suspended for gambling. Cephus missed the entire campaign but was reinstated last month.
Cephus appeared in 22 games (six starts) over his three years in Motown, tallying 37 receptions for 568 yards and four touchdowns. He showed some promise during his first two years but injuries helped slow his momentum.
Now, Cephus will be looking for his third team after striking out with his first two.
