The Detroit Lions are bringing in Ohio State defensive lineman Michael Hall Jr. for a pre-draft visit.

The news comes from Aaron Wilson of Click2Houston, who adds that the visit is taking place on Thursday.

Detroit will be quite busy on Thursday, as the team is also hosting a pair of cornerbacks on pre-draft visits, Wake Forest's Caelen Carson and Missouri's Ennis Rakestraw Jr., according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press.

Here's more on Hall Jr., per Lance Zierlein of NFL.com:

There might be a different conversation if Hall was a little bigger, but a lack of size is hard to overcome on the NFL level. Hall plays with good pound-for-pound strength and stands up to bigger players in front of him. He’s twitchy to knock blockers off balance but will also be engulfed by size at times. He rushes with sudden feet and active hands to whip guards with quick wins but appears to lack the lower-body drive to capitalize on early advantages against stronger competition. Hall needs to add mass but should compete for a backup role early on and has immediate sub-rush potential as a 3-technique in a one-gapping scheme.

The Lions shored up the interior of their defensive line this offseason with the addition of D.J. Reader, but he has injury concerns and is only on a two-year deal. In addition, Alim McNeill is slated to hit free agency next offseason if the Lions don't extend him.

While the size concerns are certainly valid, Hall Jr. could be a good fit as a rotational interior pass-rusher who may develop into a starter down the road.
