All offseason long we've seen plenty of quarterback rankings from different outlets not giving enough respect to Detroit Lions quarterback, Jared Goff, but we finally found one that gives him his due.
And it comes from NBC Sports' Chris Simms, who placed Goff as the No. 10 signal-caller on his list ahead of the 2024 campaign.
Here's a look at who is ranked ahead of Goff:
Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs
Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills
Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals
Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens
Matthew Stafford, LA Rams
Justin Herbert, LA Chargers
C.J. Stroud, Houston Texans
Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys
Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles
Jared Goff, Detroit Lions
While this ranking will no doubt be hard for some people to swallow, the numbers from his tenure in Detroit the past two seasons definitely back up Goff earning a ranking that high. And, as we know, this is a "what have you done for me lately" kind of league.
According to Statmuse, Goff ranks second in passing yards, third in passing scores, 10th in completion rate and fifth in yards per game over the past two seasons. On top of that, he has one Pro Bowl nod in that span
But Goff's success extends beyond the regular season, also. Not only did he help the Lions get to the NFC Championship Game in 2016, he also has the most playoffs wins of any NFC quarterback since he entered the league in 2016.
We did see Goff struggle at the end of his tenure with the Los Angeles Rams, and while it's possible that happens again in Detroit, all we can do is take what we've seen from him recently and judge accordingly, and what we've seen is, at worst, top-10 quarterback play.
