After giving the Detroit Lions a lackluster offseason grade, mostly because he wasn't a fan of the extension the team gave to quarterback Jared Goff, an ESPN analyst managed to produce an absurd take when defending his stance.
ESPN's Seth Walder gave the Lions a "C" grade, largely based on his disagreement with the Goff extension. He was then challenged by a fan on social media to come up with 10 quarterbacks who are better than Goff — and one of players he listed was a bit surprising, to say the least.
Walder believes that Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love is better, despite the fact that he has such a small sample size. After all, Love has only been a full-time starter for one season, and he struggled for most of it before a strong finish.

Meanwhile, Goff has been an established quarterback for years now and has been to multiple NFC Championship games, a Super Bowl, and has more playoff wins than any other NFC quarterback since entering the league in 2016.
He has even done well in the "what have you done for me lately" department. Goff ranks second in passing yards, third in passing touchdowns, 10th in completion rate and fifth in yards per game since 2022 and is coming off his second NFC Championship Game appearance.
Now, none of this is to say that Love has no shot to have a better career than Goff, but he's got a long way to go before that can be said. Let's see him do what he did at the end of last season for an entire campaign before even broaching the subject.
