When the Detroit Lions kick off their rookie minicamp on Friday, the team will not have head coach Dan Campbell in attendance.
According to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, Campbell will miss the three-day event, which runs from Friday, May 10, to Sunday, May 12, due to a personal issue.
The exact reason behind Campbell's absence is unknown, but Birkett adds that the Lions head coach is expected to rejoin the team later this month.

Rookie minicamp will be the first time we get to see the Lions' six 2024 NFL Draft picks in action on the practice field. In addition, there will also be a slew of undrafted free-agent signings and tryout players.
