With the Detroit Lions' preseason opener against the New York Giants in the books, it's time to take a look at the coverage, offensive line and pass-rush stats from Thursday night's 14-3 loss in East Rutherford.
It was not a good night from the offensive line, which gave up a ton of pressures and four sacks. However, Pro Football Focus apparently doesn't blame the reserve offensive linemen for most of them after listing just one sack in their stats.
Detroit's secondary was solid for most of the night. The unit's coverage did take a noticeable dip in the second quarter, when the Giants scored 14 points, but the secondary did rebound as the game progressed.
When it comes to the pass-rush, the Lions got adequate pressure for most of the evening, and one rookie in particular really shined in his preseason debut.
Now, on to the stats.
