The Detroit Lions saw one of their players suffer an injury on Wednesday after cornerback Khalil Dorsey was carted off during the Lions' second practice of mandatory minicamp.
Per Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com, Dorsey's injury was to his lower leg, but the exact issue and the severity was not immediately known. Kyle Meinke of MLive.com reports that Dorsey was carted off and the injury occurred near the end of practice.
A former undrafted free agent, Dorsey is competing for one of the final spots at the cornerback position. He spent the 2023 campaign with Detroit, appearing in 13 contests (two starts).
Dorsey tallied 11 tackles and two passes defensed over 80 snaps on defense. He did most of his work on special teams, seeing 248 snaps. Dorsey handled 12 kick returns and finished with 20.3 yards per return.
Tough break at Lions practice, as Khalil Dorsey is being carted off after sustaining an injury just before the day ended.
