The Detroit Lions have now made two picks in the 2024 NFL Draft, selecting Alabama cornerback Terrion Arnold in the first round and cornerback Ennis Rakestraw Jr. in the second.
Detroit was slated to have a second Day 2 pick, but they traded their third-rounder in the move up to take Arnold. The Lions originally had a pair of third-round selections but dealt the other to acquire cornerback Carlton Davis from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Barring a trade that gets the Lions back into the third round, they won't be making another selection until Saturday afternoon. They have a total of four picks remaining, but none of them come in the fourth round, as they traded that selection to the Minnesota Vikings in the deal involving tight end T.J. Hockenson.
Here's Detroit's remaining slate of picks for Day 3:
Round 5, Pick 164
Round 6, Pick 201
Round 6, Pick 205
Round 7, Pick 249
Day 3 of the 2024 NFL Draft will begin at noon ET on Saturday and will be broadcast on ESPN, ABC and NFL Network. After that, the Lions will begin exploring the undrafted free-agent market, where they will certainly make some more additions to their roster.
