The Los Angeles Rams had a productive offense on the ground last year, finishing 11th in rushing yards in 2023. RB Kyren Williams finished third in the league in rushing yards and was tied for fifth place in rushing TDs among all running backs last season.
The Rams also added Michigan RB Blake Corum in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Corum, a key cog in the Michigan Wolverines' national championship run in 2023, rushed for 1,245 yards and a whopping 27 total touchdowns last year. Corum finished his career with 3,727 rushing yards and 58 touchdowns.
He will form part of a 1-2 battering ram with Kyren Williams, one that the Rams are hoping will keep their offense on track for the 2024 season and beyond.
Despite these two promising young running backs, CBS Sports' Tyler Sullivan ranked all of the running back rooms in the NFL and placed the Rams in tier three.
"Kyren Williams took the NFL by storm last season averaging a league-best 95.3 rushing yards per game. His showing last season was good enough to earn him second-team All-Pro honors."
That was the only thing Sullivan said about the Rams' RB room, lightly touching on Kyren Williams' productivity. No mention of Corum or the rest of the Rams' running back room, consisting of players like Ronnie Rivers and Boston Scott. If the Rams' ground game can keep pace and take some of the pressure off of Matthew Stafford, their offense should once again be among the best in the NFL.
The Rams shared Tier 3 with the Atlanta Falcons, Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs, New York Jets, Seattle Seahawks, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
