A bye week didn't help DeSean Jackson as much as he and his team hoped.
The Washington Redskins wide receiver was ruled out for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings with a rotator cuff injury but could miss more time, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Sunday.

Jackson, who suffered the injury during the team's tie with the Cincinnati Bengals in London two weeks ago, did not participate in practice this week and was listed as doubtful on the team’s final injury report on Friday. He did, however, have an MRI on Thursday that showed no structural damage.
According to the report, a source revealed the injury is "not good" and has caused ongoing pain for Jackson. After being reevaluated Saturday, the veteran is now likely to miss next week's game against the visiting Green Bay Packers, hinting the severity could be worse than initially believed by coach Jay Gruden.
In the meantime, Ryan Grant and Rashad Ross could see expanded roles in Washington's passing game.
