The Denver Broncos and Phillip Dorsett weren't apart for long. Despite releasing the wide receiver last week, the team chose to bring him back into the fold. In addition, the team decided to add defensive back Quinton Newsome.

Dorsett spent the 2023 season with the Broncos, mostly on the practice squad. The former first-round pick has played for seven different teams and has 151 career receptions. He faces long odds to make the 53-man roster but perhaps the coaching staff wants him around to help bring along some of the younger guys.

Newsome spent four years at Nebraska, playing in 38 games for the Cornhuskers. He had 147 tackles, one interception and 17 pass deflections during his time there. At 6-foot-2, he possesses ideal size but will have his work cut out for him in finding a spot on this roster.

To make room for these players, the Broncos cut undrafted punter Nik Constantinou and wide receiver Lincoln Victor. Both players took part in the team's recent rookie minicamp

Constantinou punted in 48 games at Texas A&M but apparently never posed a real threat to take the job from Riley Dixon. Victor spent time at Hawaii and Washington State in college and caught 89 passes for the Cougars last season. But at 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds, he's on the smaller side.

The Broncos felt it would be more beneficial to have a veteran such as Dorsett at this stage of the offseason.
