According to a report by The Denver Post, the Broncos will be without running back Montee Ball for "several weeks" because of a groin injury.
The Post reported the second-year pro was injured while blocking in the third quarter of Denver's 41-20 victory over the Cardinals on Sunday.
"I was going to throw a little chip (block), and I kind of missed, and then I kind of stepped on cleat and then my other cleat slipped," Ball told the Post. "I did the splits a little bit. Freak accident. I don't know what's going on, if somebody put a hex on me or something. But I'm not sitting here playing the woe-is-me card. I'm most definitely going to stick with the program, train, trust the training staff, rehab and I'll come back stronger."
Ball has just one touchdown and 172 yards on 55 carries after the Broncos' first four games. As a backup to Knowshon Moreno in 2013, Ball had four touchdowns and 559 yards.
