Cowboys vs. Texans: Score, results, highlights from Houston's overtime victory image

The Texans outlasted the Cowboys 19-16 in overtime on "Sunday Night Football."

A winner couldn't be decided in regulation in a slugfest between two in-state rivals.

The Texans picked up their second win of the season with Dehsaun Watson outdueling Dak Prescott. Watson completed 33-of-44 passes for 375 yards, one touchdown and an interception. His biggest throw came on a 49-yard bullseye to Deandre Hopkins in overtime to set up the game-winning field goal.

The Cowboys drop to 2-3 with the loss as they head home to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 6.

Overtime: Texans 19, Cowboys 16

11:45 p.m.: Field goal Texans.  Houston converts the field goal and picks up the victory.  Texans win 19-16.

11:44 p.m.:  Looks like Houston's stopped short of the marker on third and one. Field goal unit comes out for Houston to attempt the 36 yarder.

11:41 p.m.: Two-minute warning.  Texans driving with the ball at the Dallas 18-yard line. 

11:38 p.m.:  Watson hits Hopkins and he breaks several tackles before he's tackled at the Dallas 27-yard line after the 49-yard gain.

11:35 p.m.:  Cowboys are stopped on third and one. The punting unit comes out and Houston will start with the ball at their own 10-yard line with 5:35 to go in overtime.

11:34 p.m.:  Cowboys pick up a couple first downs and have the ball at mid field with 6:55 left in overtime.

11:33 p.m.: Quick refresher on the overtime rules:

11:30 p.m.: Dallas will start overtime with the ball on their own 20-yard line after the touchback.

Fourth quarter: Cowboys 16, Texans 16

11:26 p.m.:  Prescott throws one deep into the end zone and it's batted down. They're off to overtime in Houston.

11:25 p.m.: Houston burns their final timeout. Four seconds still on the clock.

11:24 p.m.:  Prescott try to complete one to Cole Beasley and is nearly picked off. Four seconds remain.

11:22 p.m.: Interception Cowboys.  Watson is picked off by Dallas's Xavier Woods with 10 seconds remaining. Dallas at their own 47-yard line with 10 second left and one timeout.

11:21 p.m.: Watson complete to Coutee on third down and he's forced out of bound at the Dallas 48-yard line. 20 second left.

11:19 p.m.:  Watson finds Hopkins on third down to move the chains. 34 seconds remaining and the Texans still need about 30-35 yard to move into field-goal range.

11:17 p.m.:  After the punt, Houston is flagged for holding on the return, so they'll start at their own 10-yard line with 1:41 to go.

11:16 p.m.:  Prescott can't find an open receiver and scrambles to try and pick up the first down. He's force out of bounds before he can pick up the necessary yards and Dallas will punt it away.

11:14 p.m.: Two-minute warning. Dallas is facing a third and 17 from their own 47-yard line.  Game tied 16-16.

11:13 p.m.:  Houston punts it away and after a nice return, Dallas will start near mid field with 3:40 to go.

11:05 p.m.: Field goal Cowboys.  The Houston defense holds the line after the big play by Prescott. Dallas settles for a 48-yard field goal.  Game tied 16-16.

11:01 p.m.:  Prescott avoids a sack from J.J. Watt and scrambles to keep the play alive. He then completes a 44-yard deep ball to Austin while on the run. Dallas driving with the ball at the Houston 31-yard line.

10:58 p.m.: Field goal Texans.  Houston's red-zone offense keeps leaving points on the field as it settles for a 19-yard field goal.  Texans lead 16-13.

10:54 p.m.:  Texans set a franchise record for attendance tonight:

10:47 p.m.:  Injury update for Dallas:

10:46 p.m.:  Prescott's pass on third and eight falls incomplete and the Cowboys will punt it away with 13:29 left in the fourth.

Third quarter: Cowboys 13, Texans 13

10:43 p.m.  That'll do it for the third quarter.  Game tied 13-13.

10:39 p.m.:  The Cowboys' defense forces the Texans' offense to go three and out. They punt it away and Dallas will take over at their own 15-yard line.

10:36 p.m.:  Jadeveon Clowney sacks Prescott on third and five to force a Dallas punt with 2:31 left in the third.

10:28 p.m.:  Field goal Texans.  Houston can't punch it in on third and goal so they settle for a 21-yard field goal.  Game tied 13-13.

10:20 p.m.:  Play is confirmed after the review and the Texans will take over at the Dallas 29-yard line.

10:17 p.m.: Interception Texans.  Prescott's intended pass to Kavon Frazier is tipped an intercepted by Houston's Justin Reid. Play is under official review as the ball might have touched the ground before Reid had possession. 

10:11 p.m.:  Texans can't convert on third and long so they punt it away to the Cowboys. Houston downs it inside the 5-yard line but they're flagged for illegal touching so Dallas will start at their own 20-yard line instead.

10:04 p.m.:  Touchdown Cowboys.  Prescott hits Allen Hurns in the back of the end zone for the 3-yard score. Extra point is good.  Cowboys lead 13-10.

9:58 p.m.: Fumble Texans.  Watson completes a pass to Hopkins, but he's stripped as he's tackled and it's recovered by Dallas' Jourdan Lewis who returns it to the Houston 16-yard line. 

9:54 p.m.:  Houston will start at their own 20-yard line after receiving the second-half kickoff.

9:39 p.m.:  Watson hits Hopkins who's tackled at the 1-yard line. Houston goes for it on fourth and goal, but fails to convert as Watson's forced out of bounds near the 3-yard line.

9:30 p.m.: Interception Texans.  Prescott throws to Tavon Austin on first and 10, but it bounces off his hands and is intercepted by Houston's Kareem Jackson. He returns it 12 yard to the Houston 32-yard line before he's forced out of bounds. 1:31 left in the first half.

9:27 p.m.:  At the two-minute warning, Dallas is driving at the Houston 41-yard line. 

9:18 p.m.:  Field goal Texans.  Watson gets flushed out of the pocket on third and goal and throws it away. Fairbairn then drills the 20-yard field goal.  Texans lead 10-6.

9:05 p.m.:  Dallas can't convert on third and long so they punt it away. Houston takes over at their own 19-yard line with 11:57 left in the second quarter.

8:57 p.m.:  Touchdown Texans.  Watson takes the shotgun snap and shovels it to Keke Coutee for the 1-yard touchdown.  Texans lead 7-6.

First quarter: Cowboys 6, Texans 0

8:51 p.m.:  Watson hits Deandre Hopkins across midfield for a 34-yard gain all the way down to the Dallas 9-yard line and that'll do it for the first quarter.

8:43 p.m.: Field goal Cowboys.  The Cowboys make it into Houston territory and can't convert a third and long. They settle for a 43-yard field goal.  Cowboys lead 6-0.

8:41 p.m.:  Prescott finds Rico Gathers for a 32-yard gain.

8:37 p.m.: Missed field goal Texans.  Watson and the offense get Houston into field-goal range, but the 48-yard attempt by Ka'imi Fairbairn is wide left.  Cowboys lead 3-0.

8:32 p.m.:  The Texans will start at their own 20-yard line after the touchback. We alos have an inury update for Houston:

8:29 p.m.: Field goal Cowboys.  Dallas winds up settling for a 27-yard field goal by Brett Maher.  Cowboys lead 3-0.

8:26 p.m.:  Prescott hits Geoff Swain on a screen pass and he makes it all the way to the Houston 16-yard line after the 43-yard gain.

8:25 p.m.:  Cowboys face a third and long early, but Prescott finds Deonte Thompson near the right sideline for the first down.

8:22 p.m.:  Houston wins the toss and they'll defer to the second half. Dallas will start with the ball at their own 20-yard line after a touchback.
