Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett stood by his quarterback Monday, despite a poor performance in Sunday night's ugly 10-7 loss against the New York Giants.
Dak Prescott and the Cowboys have lost just twice this season, both times against the Giants. The latest setback sparked a fresh debate as to who should lead the Cowboys the rest of the season. Garrett had a quick answer.
FANTASY: Week 15 QB info — should you sit Dak this week?
"You can make it as simple or complex as you want to make it," Garrett said, via ESPN. "It's pretty simple for us. Dak's going to play quarterback as we go forward."
Many wondered if Tony Romo's name would move back to the top of the depth chart after Prescott completed just 17 of 37 passes for 165 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions against the Giants.
IYER: Dak's loss is a blessing in disguise
Team owner Jerry Jones dispelled the notion immediately Sunday night, and Garrett reiterated the stance on Monday.
Sunday's loss snapped an 11-game winning streak, but the Cowboys still hold a two-game lead on the top spot in the NFC thanks in large part to the work Prescott did while Romo was sidelined with a back injury.
