The Giants hung with Dallas for much of their Monday night meeting at MetLife Stadium, but three turnovers and an inability to convert red zone opportunities into touchdowns allowed the Cowboys to pull away in the second half of a 37-18 victory.

Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott threw an interception on the first play of the game, putting the Giants on the doorstep to an early 7-0. But the Cowboys defense held — a recurring theme on the night — forcing New York to settle for the first of its four field goals.

A Dallas field goal evened the score, but Prescott's offense continued to struggle early. Along with the interception, the Cowboys had a fumble and a missed field goal in their first four drives, while the Giants opened up a 12-3 lead.

The tide turned in the final minutes before halftime; Prescott capped a six-play drive with a 42-yard touchdown pass to tight end Blake Jarwin with 52 seconds left, and a Daniel Jones interception got Dallas the ball back with 27 seconds later. A field goal on the final play of the first half gave the Cowboys a 13-12 lead.

New York's offense struggled after halftime, managing just six points. Jones had three turnovers on the night — an interception and two fumbles — and running back Saquon Barkley had just 28 yards on 14 carries (though he did have a team-leading 76 receiving yards). Even the Giants' biggest play of the night, a 65-yard reception from Barkley that put the offense on the 11-yard line, turned into a field goal.

Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper made the Giants pay for that squandered opportunity by catching a 45-yard touchdown pass on the ensuing drive, extending Dallas' lead to 30-18 with 7:56 to play. A 63-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown with six seconds left made the scoreline even uglier, and the Cowboys secured their third consecutive season sweep of the Giants.
