Weeden has completed 72 percent of his passes in three-plus games as Tony Romo's replacement, with two touchdowns and two interceptions. But the Cowboys are 0-3 in the games Weeden has started.
Enter Cassel, who Dallas traded for soon after Romo's injury and apparently will start after the team's bye this week.
"I feel great," Cassel said Wednesday. "There's a lot of carryover from the different systems I've been in. … Now it's just putting it all together. I'm feeling good with all that. I've had three weeks at it now and I feel pretty comfortable and I'm growing each and every day and at the same time I'm feeling very comfortable."
Weeden? He's not comfortable with the situation, but he did say that he'd be professional about it because that's what he's done virtually his entire career, much of it as a backup.
