Ezekiel Elliott is still dealing with the effects of an incident from two months ago.

The Cowboys running back's agents released a statement Saturday saying he believes he's being extorted by Kyle Johnson, an event staffer Elliott shoved at a music festival in an altercation in May. Elliott and his legal team are contacting the proper authorities in hopes of resolving the issue.

Johnson, 19, received an apology from Elliott following the incident, but said "it didn't seem sincere at all."

"I wasn't hurt or anything, but just to have someone that you looked up to shove you on the ground over a metal fence?" Johnson said. "It's not the biggest thing in the world."

Elliott, 23, has had his fair share of off-field controversy. He was suspended by the NFL for six games after being accused of abusing his ex-girlfriend, but wasn't arrested.

The two-time NFL rushing leader is entering his fourth season with Dallas and won't become an unrestricted free agent until 2021.
