Cowboys vs. Dolphins odds: Dallas early three-touchdown favorite over Miami in Week 3 image

The NFL betting public has been given another enormous point spread to ponder; this one is for the Week 3 matchup between the Cowboys and the Dolphins on Sept. 22 in Arlington, Texas.

Online sportsbooks such as Pinnacle, 5Dimes and Bookmaker pushed Dallas to about a three-touchdown favorite over Miami not long after the initial lines were posted Sunday, per Sportsbook Review. The spread had jumped to as high as 21.5 points as of 8:45 p.m. ET after being around 16.5 during the late afternoon games.

Games involving the rebuilding Dolphins will be seen as huge mismatches until further notice. Miami closed as an 18-point underdog at home vs. the Patriots in Week 2, only to lose 43-0. The Dolphins were seven-point underdogs at home vs. the Ravens in Week 1; Baltimore easily covered that spread, to say the least, in a 59-10 rout.

The Cowboys are 2-0 overall and 2-0 against the spread after season-opening victories over the Giants and Redskins, two NFC East rivals.

Miami's next opponent after Dallas will be the Chargers at home; that game has big-spread potential, too. The first chance for a reasonable number could come in Week 6, a home game vs. Washington (the Dolphins have a bye in Week 5).
