With a win and an Eagles loss in Week 18, the Cowboys would clinch the divisional crown, the No. 1 seed in the NFC and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. It would represent a huge turnaround after they trailed Philadelphia by three games with just three weeks remaining in the campaign.

To put it simply, the Cowboys still have everything to play for this Sunday. However, they will need some help from elsewhere.

The Eagles — who are fresh off a stunning loss to the lowly Saints last week — will need to lose to the Giants to give Dallas any hope of securing the No. 1 seed. The Giants are locked into the No. 6 spot in the NFC, meaning they have nothing to play for this week, but the Cowboys could really use a favor from their division rivals in the Big Apple right about now.

Meanwhile, the Commanders' playoff hopes were extinguished last week with a miserable 24-10 loss to the Browns. Carson Wentz had an afternoon he'll want to forget, going 16 of 28 with 143 passing yards, no touchdowns and three interceptions. The fans in attendance booed the quarterback and were heard chanting for Taylor Heinicke to replace him. It was the fourth loss in a row for Washington.

With his team now playing for little more than pride, head coach Ron Rivera has opted to give rookie QB Sam Howell his first NFL start this week. Howell, a fifth-round draft pick out of North Carolina, will have his work cut out for him. He'll be going up against a Dallas defense that has registered the third-most sacks of any team in the NFL this season.
