The Cowboys will likely be without starting cornerback Morris Claiborne indefinitely after he suffered an injury Sunday night against the Eagles and is now expected to undergo hernia surgery, according to ESPN.
The report says Claiborne could still come back this season even if he opts for surgery. Vikings cornerback Terrance Newman underwent the same procedure in 2008 and returned six weeks later.

Claiborne, who has never quite lived up to expectations after being selected by the Cowboys with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2012 draft, injured his groin with under a minute left in regulation in Sunday's 29-23 overtime win.
Claiborne has 26 tackles and an interception this season. He has never had more than one interception in a season during his five-year career.
Orlando Scandrick, who just returned from a hamstring injury, will start in Claiborne's absence.
