Byron Jones is back.
The Cowboys on Monday activated the cornerback off the physically unable to perform (PUP) list, allowing him to return to practice on a limited basis after being sidelined all offseason due to hip surgery.
In his first practice since last season's playoffs, Jones did some individual work as he continues to target a Week 1 comeback.

"He’s going to slowly get back into it and see where he is," Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said, via the team's official website. "He’s been working really well on the side but it’s time for him to get going again. He’ll be out there for part of practice."
Jones, 26, was selected by the Cowboys in the first round of the 2015 draft and is entering the final year of his rookie contract.
He compiled 67 tackles and a career-high 14 passes defended, while making his first Pro Bowl appearance in 2018.
The Cowboys will wrap up preseason play Thursday against the Buccaneers before hosting the Giants for their Sept. 8 regular-season opener.
