The hype is building for Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson.
As the budding star enters his second season, he has a lot to prove after missing the majority of his rookie campaign due to a shoulder injury.
While some analysts and fans have questions about what type of quarterback the Colts have, Richardson's teammate — Quenton Nelson — doesn't have any concerns.
"He’s an absolute freak,” Nelson said on the Bussin With The Boys podcast. “Like he’s weighing in after practice at like 250 pounds. He’s ginormous. He can launch the ball and be accurate with it, too. The plays that he can make, some of the ones you’ve seen, the flashes of it. It’s like, oh my goodness, this guy is special.”
Richardson showed some of the promise that he can be a game-changing asset at the NFL's most important position. However, injury concerns will be one of the main storylines to watch.
But even with Richardson needing to prove he can stay healthy for an entire campaign, Nelson has been impressed with the way the latter carries himself off the field.
"Also, how he goes about his business. He's not very vocal, I'd say, but he goes about his business in a way that he's handling it, and he's ready at all times. Yeah, he's a special dude," Nelson said.
It's well-known that the Colts' season more or less rides on Richardson's shoulder, but it's clear the leaders in the locker believe in the young quarterback.
