The Indianapolis Colts understand the importance of building out a strong wide receiver room to help the development of young quarterback Anthony Richardson.
In a recent ranking of every wide receiver trio in the NFL from Sporting News' Tyler Greenawalt, the Colts found themselves just outside the top-10. The trio of Michael Pittman Jr., Josh Downs and Alec Pierce came in at No. 11 overall.

Pittman has been leading the room since the 2021 season, which was his second in the NFL. He's coming off his best season in the league after posting career-high marks in receptions (109) and receiving yards (1,152).
Pittman signed a three-year contract extension this offseason and will be leading the corps again in 2024. They are hoping to see a Year 2 jump from slot receiver Josh Downs, who was on pace for 1,000 receiving yards halfway through the season.

The former second-round pick in Pierce struggled in 2023. Part of it stemmed from his own issues consistently getting open while another part of it was due to the conservative nature of Gardner Minshew. He enters a big Year 3 where he will look to put together some consistency as a deep threat with Richardson.
The Colts are expected to use some early draft capital on a wide receiver at the end of the month, which could make this wide receiver corps even stronger moving forward.
