The 2024 NFL draft is just days away, and the Indianapolis Colts are looking to add pieces on both sides of the ball to help them compete in a busy division.
As the draft quickly approaches, ESPN's Jordan Reid published a seven-round mock draft with selections for all 32 teams. Though it included trades, the Colts did not partake in any deals throughout this mock.
Instead, they sat tight and added some intriguing pieces to the offense and secondary with their selections through the first three rounds.

ESPN NFL mock draft has Colts taking explosive WR
Despite the chances of the Colts trading back to acquire more draft capital, a move Chris Ballard loves to make. However, they stayed put in this mock from Reid, adding an explosive wide receiver talent.

Round 1, Pick 15: WR Brian Thomas Jr., LSU
With their selection in the first round, the Colts went with one of the most exciting prospects in the draft. Thomas brings an element of vertical explosiveness from the Z-receiver position, and he would make an ideal complement to Michael Pittman Jr. on the outside. There was a report that he's dealing with a shoulder injury, and it's unclear how that might impact his draft stock. However, his talent on the field is a perfect match for what the Colts need at wide receiver.
Round 2, Pick 46: S Jaden Hicks, Washington State
In terms of pure need, the safety position might top the list for the Colts. However, the value in the draft likely won't match up a whole lot when it comes to the early picks. On Day 2, though, there's intriguing talent, and Hicks is among that crop. He's an elite athlete with versatility to play both strong and free safety.
Round 3, Pick 82: CB Cam Hart, Notre Dame
With a young cornerback room, Hart would be an intriguing addition. He's an elite athlete with length and explosiveness who attended the Senior Bowl and was a team captain. There's a lot of development that needs to take place, especially with footwork consistency, but there's also a lot of upside as well.
Round 4, Pick 117: EDGE Myles Cole, Texas Tech
Round 5, Pick 151: RB Bucky Irving, Oregon
Round 6, Pick 191: OL Matt Goncalves, Pittsburgh
Round 7, Pick 234: LB Michael Barrett, Michigan
