With just over a full day remaining until the Indianapolis Colts are on the clock in the 2024 NFL draft, there's a lot of smoke surrounding what teams will do.
The latest potential smoke as it pertains to the Colts comes from NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah, who suggested general manager Chris Ballard could be looking to trade up in the draft for a specific cornerback.
During a conversation on Twitter Spaces, Jeremiah said the latest news he's heard about the draft was that the Colts are a team to potentially move up for Toledo cornerback Quinyon Mitchell.

"The latest stuff I've heard this evening was don't sleep on the Colts moving up for Quinyon Mitchell," Jeremiah said during the live conversation.
Despite being an organization that has shown no inkling of trading up in the first round during Ballard's tenure, there has been a lot of chatter about the Colts moving up in the draft.
Doing so for Mitchell would be a bit of a surprise. It would makes sense if the Colts might look into trading up for a player like Brock Bowers or Malik Nabers if they fell within striking distance, but Ballard isn't a general manager actively looking to move up.
With that said, Mitchell is a fantastic fit for the Colts. If he's available at No. 15 overall, there's a strong chance he's the selection for Indy.
However, it's difficult to see the Colts moving up for a prospect in the first round unless that player is a bona-fide blue-chip prospect.
