The Indianapolis Colts are likely to have a few options when they are on the clock in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, but one report states there's one prospect they would "run the card in" for if he's available.

While many expect the Colts to hone in on the cornerback position considering it's the team's biggest need entering the draft, ESPN's Matt Miller reported that the front office has high hopes that Georgia tight end Brock Bowers will be available.

In fact, he reported they would "run the card in" if Bowers is there at No. 15.

Cornerback stands out as one of the Colts' biggest needs and realistic targets at No. 15 -- as long as Brock Bowers is off the board. One source with a rival team believed the Colts would "run the card in" if Bowers is available.

Granted, it's best to take quotes from rival team sources with a grain of salt during this month considering what can be smoke. With that said, it makes sense for the Colts to have interest in Bowers.

The Georgia product is far and away the best tight end prospect in this class and likely the best tight end prospect we've seen in years. Shane Steichen would know how to correctly use Bowers' skill set as a receiving option.

The Colts didn't get a whole lot out of their tight end group in 2023. Bowers would immediately step into a starting role as a receiving tight end while furthering the development of young quarterback Anthony Richardson.

Cornerback may be the bigger need on paper, but the Colts know they need to get more explosive on offense. Bowers would be a way to do that.
