The Indianapolis Colts hold the No. 15 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, and it's a slot the franchise has held three times before.
Two of the players selected with this pick were part of the Indianapolis franchise with the first one on the list arriving when the team was still in Baltimore.
1966 NFL Draft
The first player selected by the Colts at No. 15 overall in the NFL Draft was offensive tackle Sam Ball out of Kentucky in 1966. He was with the team for five seasons (1966-1970) appearing in 61 games and making 42 starts.
Ball was also drafted as the No. 14 pick in the 1966 AFL Draft by the New York Jets, which was the final year two separate drafts were held before the merger. Ball was a consensus All-American in 1965 and won a ring with the Colts in Super Bowl V.

1995 NFL Draft
The next player to be selected by the Colts with the No. 15 pick was defensive tackle Ellis Johnson out of Florida during the 1995 NFL Draft. Johnson played 10 years in the league, seven of which were with the Colts.
During his time wearing the horseshoe, he appeared in 104 games (84 starts) recording 270 tackles (188 solo), 33.0 sacks and 20 tackles for loss. He spent two seasons with the Atlanta Falcons and his final season with the Denver Broncos.
2017 NFL Draft
The final player on the list is one that Colts fans know pretty well. The Colts used the No. 15 overall pick on safety Malik Hooker in the 2017 NFL Draft. The Ohio State product's tenure with Indy was marred by injuries, which included a torn ACL during his rookie season. He also tore his Achilles in Week 2 of the 2020 season, his final with the team.

Hooker didn't seem to mesh well when the Colts switched defensive coordinators going into his second season. This led to the team declining the fifth-year option on his rookie contract.
Hooker has been with the Dallas Cowboys since 2021, and he's signed two separate extensions with them since his arrival.
