Indianapolis Colts general manager Chris Ballard pulled no punches in his defense of new wide receiver Adonai Mitchell, the team's second-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, whose character came into question just before draft.
Mitchell, who was viewed by many analysts as a borderline first-round pick, is believed to have slipped in drafts after reports surfaced about concerns regarding his character.
The Colts, who traded back in the second round from No. 46 to No. 52, decided that slide was enough for the explosive wide receiver out of Texas.

Ballard has rarely been this animated when defending a player's character during his tenure with the Colts, but it's clear how he feels about Mitchell.
The Colts needed to add an explosive talent to the wide receiver room, and those reports essentially pushed Mitchell down to the Colts.
