Colin Kaepernick's decision to kneel during the national anthem has polarized Americans along racial and political lines.
So when the black quarterback from one of the nation's most liberal cities takes a knee during the anthem Sunday before a majority white and conservative crowd in the Panthers' Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, expect a shower of boos.

And Kaepernick supporters at the stadium wearing his jersey — which is suddenly the best-selling jersey in the NFL — can likely expect a tough time, too. An Omnisport employee at the game reported he had already witnessed one confrontation involving a fan in a Kaepernick jersey outside the stadium several hours before the game.
Kaepernick made news at a country music concert Saturday night at Charlotte's PNC Music Pavilion. During the show, country star Brad Paisely played a humorous “South Park"-style cartoon video that poked fun at many controversial figures, from Donald Trump and Bill Cosby to Kim Kardashian. Fans in the crowd chuckled. But according to the Charlotte Observer, when an image appeared showing a cartoon Kaepernick kneeling on the sideline, "a thunderous chorus of virtually humor-less boos rocked the amphitheater."
