Denver Broncos running back C.J. Anderson won't play in Week 8 with a bone bruise in his knee, and he might miss more time, according to NFL.com.
Anderson missed practice Wednesday to meet with doctors for a second opinion on the injury, and they were expected to determine how much time he'll need for recovery. The report suggested Anderson is expected to miss "a few weeks," and maybe more.

Anderson played through the injury last week against the Houston Texans, racking up 107 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. It was his first 100-yard rushing game of the season.
"We’re trying to evaluate it more than anything,” Broncos coach Gary Kubiak said after practice. “He played through it. He played extremely well. He was our offensive MVP. He played really well. He came in really sore the day after. So we’re trying to evaluate exactly where he’s at.”
With Anderson out, Kubiak will turn to rookie Devontae Booker to start. Booker had been building a bigger role in the offense before he burst out for 83 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries Monday night.

Booker will get the start this week against the San Diego Chargers, who he gashed for a 9.2 yards per carry average two weeks ago in their first meeting.
