Super Bowl 58 is next on the agenda for the 2023-24 NFL season. While millions tune into the game to watch the Chiefs and 49ers in action, many will also turn their attention to the commercials.
One of those will be the BMW production, featuring Christopher Walken, Usher and Ashley Park.
Here's a look at everything to know about the advertisement.
Christopher Walken Super Bowl commercial: Inside BMW's ad featuring Usher, Ashley Park
Christopher Walken, Usher and Ashley Park appear in the latest Super Bowl advertisement by BMW.
In the commercial, titled "Talking Like Walken," Walken drives a BMW sedan. He goes through a typical daily routine, though he's clearly frustrated by the way people keep trying to imitate his voice. Later, Park and the Super Bowl 58 halftime performer, Usher, make an appearance.
The ad, which BMW tried to keep under wraps, is a big part of a strategy that could pay dividends for BMW.
Marcus Casey, the Chief Marketing Officer of the company, sees the ad as a solid way to further their campaign with a method that has already been successful in the past.
“Following the success of our 2022 ad, we knew that we wanted to be back in the Big Game sooner, rather than later,” Casey said in an interview with USA TODAY. “Traditionally, we’ve reserved the Super Bowl opportunity for big moments, when we’ve had a product launch or message that merits such a big stage. And, of course, you must have the right concept.
"It all came together when we started thinking about the launch of the all-new BMW 5 Series and first ever 100% electric BMW i5, which are important drivers for our brand.”
