Jets fans have not forgotten that the organization used (wasted?) a second-round draft pick on Penn State quarterback Christian Hackenberg in 2016. Hackenberg proved to be overmatched in an NFL setting and never took a regular-season snap in two seasons with the franchise.

He's on his third, and probably last, team of 2018, the Super Bowl champion Eagles. On Thursday, he had a chance to exact preseason revenge against Gang Green. Instead, he did this . . .

. . . and this.

In short, he gave Jets fans one final chance to make jokes about him.

Hackenberg is trying to beat out Nate Sudfeld and Joe Callahan for the Eagles' No. 3 QB spot, behind Carson Wentz and Nick Foles. His early work Thursday won't get him there. (UPDATE: His later work wasn't any better. He lost a fumble for a third turnover. His final passing line: 7 for 16, 69 yards, no TDs, two INTs, two sacks, 16.9 rating.)
