Cris Carter is an invaluable assett to ESPN's NFL coverage.
As a hall-of-famer, he can provide insight on what it's like to play the game at the highest level, and break down film from a players' perspective. As a black man, who's battled drug addiction and overcome it, he can also add a unique cultural perspective on the challenges and temptations stars in the league face today. However, he's still 50 years old. So, his reach only extends so far in a game dominated by 20somethings. In a radio interview Wednesday, Carter tried to act like he understood the dance phenomenon known as "dabbin", made known to the sporting public by Cam Newton, forgot he's old, called it "bappin" and made a fool of himself.

Cris, I know you made your living, risking life and limb by going over the middle, and making the big play. Now that your playing days are over, you show the same fearlessness whenever it's time to speak up on a controversial topic, but you've got to know when to hold them and when to fold them. You should've sat this one out. It has something to do with Migos (I think), neither of which you know a darn thing about. I'm 31, and I don't either.
Sometimes, us old heads just have to sit back, be old, and let the kids have their fun.
