The Chiefs will get a lot of face time this season.
Kansas City will play five primetime games in 2024 — which is tied for the second-most in the NFL with eight other teams. Only the Jets, 49ers and Cowboys have more than the Chiefs and the eight others.
The Chiefs kick off the season with a huge AFC championship rematch against the Ravens at home. Then, KC plays the Falcons in Atlanta on Monday night in Week 3, the Saints at home on Monday night in Week 5 and back-to-back primetime games in Weeks 9 and 10 against the Buccaneers and Broncos on Monday and Sunday night, respectively. The Chiefs' final primetime game is against the Chargers on Sunday night in Week 14.
But that isn't the end of the Chiefs' big moments. Kansas City will play a total of three non-primetime standalone games. They'll play on Black Friday in Week 13 against the Raiders at 3 p.m. ET, on a Saturday in Week 16 against the Texans at 1 p.m. and then on Christmas Day in Week 7 against the Steelers at 1 p.m. ET on Netflix.
Chiefs' 2024 schedule by the numbers
— Pete Sweeney (@pgsween) May 16, 2024
8 standalone games (6 at Arrowhead)
6 different days of the week (forget Tuesdays)
5 primetime games
5 Noon start times
2 Monday Night Football
2 Sunday Night Football
1 Black Friday game (hosting LV)
1 Christmas Day game (away at PIT)
This is the power of the Chiefs. And for good reason. They have Patrick Mahomes under center, Travis Kelce out right, Taylor Swift in the stands and NFL history on the line. The Chiefs are attempting to win their third consecutive Super Bowl, which has never happened before. There are a ton of exciting matchups throughout the schedule — standalone or not.
An AFC West repeat is certainly doable, and the Chiefs are used to the bright lights of primetime.
