The Chiefs and Bills are set to write another chapter in their playoff rivalry when they square off in the AFC divisional round Sunday evening.
Both teams are coming off convincing victories in the wild-card round. Braving sub-zero temperatures, the Chiefs stalled the Dolphins, 26-7, last Saturday. Patrick Mahomes threw for 262 yards and a touchdown, while Kansas City’s defense held Miami’s high-octane offense in check.
The Bills had to wait an extra day to embark on their playoff journey after a winter storm forced a one-day postponement. But Buffalo took care of business in a 31-17 win over Pittsburgh on Monday, fueled by four total touchdowns from Josh Allen.
Now the two sides meet in the playoffs for the third time in the last four seasons. Kansas City won the prior two matchups, including a thrilling, 42-36 overtime victory in 2021.
The two teams also met in Week 14 of the regular season in Kansas City. The Bills escaped with a 20-17 victory after a late Chiefs touchdown was called back due to an offside penalty on wide receiver Kadarius Toney.
