Darius Slay on Charles Woodson: 'He's older than my mom' image

Charles Woodson is in his 18th NFL season, but the 39-year-old safety is still shutting down receivers and putting fear in opposing quarterbacks.

His age is something that impresses Lions corner Darius Slay. When speaking to reporters about having to step up with Rashean Mathis injured, Slay said he's now the oldest active corner for the Lions, and he's only 24.

So if that's crazy, then it must be really crazy that Woodson is still out there and is 15 years older.

"Man, he could almost be my granddaddy," he said. "This is crazy, he's older than my mom."

Slay's mom, Stephanie Lowe, is 38 years old. She had him when she was 13 years old.

Woodson is tied for the lead league in interceptions with five. Slay is playing well, too, as Pro Football Focus has him ranked as the NFL's 10th-best cover man, per the Detroit Free Press
