Remember when people were concerned about Cam Newton's "personality" causing trouble in the Patriots' locker room? We're only three weeks into the 2020 season, but yeah, that's already looking like a pretty dumb take.
New England is off to a 2-1 start and Newton is looking like his old self. The 2015 NFL MVP has thrown for 714 yards (238 per game), although just two touchdowns, but his rushing has made him a game-changer; he has added 149 yards and four touchdowns on the ground, making the Patriots' offense incredibly balanced.
Here’s a clip of Cam Newton doing exactly what Cam Newton has always done—extending drives + generating generous chunks of yardage, with ease.

MORE: Newton needed Patriots to find MVP form again — not Panthers or any other team
But perhaps even more importantly, Newton has looked like a leader in New England. And he's still doing it with his trademark smiles, dances and all-around swagger.
That swagger was on full display Sunday in the Pats' 36-20 victory over the Raiders. Newton was shown goofing off with Patriots wide receiver N'Keal Harry on the bench late in the fourth quarter. Newton's hilarious reaction to whatever Harry said became the newest meme on Twitter.
