The Buccaneers can clinch the NFC South for the third straight year with a victory over the Panthers in the final game of the regular season on Sunday.
The Buccaneers lost to New Orleans 23-13 on Sunday, snapping a four-game winning streak. Tampa Bay and the Saints are now tied in the division, which doesn't include a team with a winning record.
However, the Buccaneers own the tiebreaker over New Orleans based on best winning percentage in common games.
If the Buccaneers lose to the Panthers, the winner of the finale between the Saints and Falcons in New Orleans will win the division and host a playoff game the following week.
Tampa Bay quarterback Baker Mayfield has been mostly solid since taking over the starting job. He went 22 of 33 for 309 yards with two interceptions and two touchdowns against New Orleans.
Buccaneers linebacker Shaquil Barrett (groin) and cornerback Carlton Davis (concussion) did not play after being injured the previous week against Jacksonville.
The Panthers fell to 2-14 after losing 26-0, against the Jaguars. Carolina is 0-9 on the road and were held scoreless for the first time since losing to Atlanta in Week 12 in 2002.
Rookie quarterback Bryce Young was just 19 of 32 with 112 yards and an interception. He was sacked six times.
Panthers linebacker Marquis Haynes was carted off the field in the third quarter with a concussion.
