The story of Bryan Stork took another strange turn Monday morning when the center failed his physical with the Redskins, according to multiple reports.
A failed physical means his rights go back to the Patriots, and the Redskins get back their conditional draft pick. Essentially, the trade that happened last week doesn't count, and the Redskins don't have to deal with the headache anymore.
If you haven't been following along, Stork's situation went from strange to really strange last week. Here's a timeline of events:
- Patriots tell Stork they are going to release him; media leaks report
- Redskins see reports and decide they want to trade for Stork
- Trade is made, but Stork contemplates retirement
- Stork waits to report to Redskins
- Stork fails physical, heads back to Patriots

As NFL Media's Ian Rapoport said, the Redskins "were frustrated" with the center after all of the drama and probably aren't sad to see he won't be a part of the team. They were hoping he'd provide something positive to their offensive line, considering he was starting just a season ago, but his retirement talk led Washington to believe he didn't really care about playing.
What happens next will be interesting to see. He's once again a member of a team that was willing to release him, so he'll likely be cut and go through the waiver process. But will he decide to officially retire now, or will he be willing to play for another team?
